Super 8 to digital video transfer

I know that you have to run a projector at about 20fps in order to transfer super 8 film to video to eliminate the "flicker". If you're using a PAL digital camera, can you run the projector at 24 FPS and still eliminate the "flicker"?

Well, I do know that Pal is 25fps (or 50 fields per second), which is much closer to the 24fps of films than is NTSC. But I honestly don't know what this would do with flicker. I suppose some experimenting is in order! Unfortunately, I only have NTSC equipment. At present, I'm looking for a variable speed dual-8 (can be silent) projector that I can get at 20fps for doing home transfers of my 18fps footage.
